I had a response today from RBC officers in relation to concerns raised by constituent a few weeks ago about road safety on Northumberland Avenue. See below email from officers:
"I have spoken to the Bus Company on the issue of speeds of buses and they have agreed to carry out some checks. The Traffic Management group have looked at accidents along the road and carried out speed checks and neither has identified any associations with speeding traffic. However as there are a number of non speed related accidents along the road we will be bringing forward some Road Safety proposals for the area to TMAP later this year
...we will be bringing an update on the Safer Roads Partnership to TMAP in September and I will make sure the Northumberland Avenue camera issue is covered in the report.the Bus Company come back to us with any issues..."
I will be discussing this response with constituents who first raised concerns to see what they would like to see happen next in relation to this issue.
