We held our regular Surgery this morning on Hexham Road and we rounded off the morning with a walkabout around the estate to pick up any issues. It was disappointing to find another vandalised alley gate on Stanhope Road. This was something we campaigned on back in April. I've reported this to the Council for action. Ultimately, I think Council needs to bring in a more effective type of gates which are harder to vandalise.

Other issues we identified included large amounts of graffiti on Burdett Court, flytipping on Stanhope Road, and damaged garages on Bede Walk. We do ward walkabouts regularly to ensure that these problems are tackled by the Council.
To push this agenda forward I will be meeting officers in September to discuss ways that Hexham estate can be made a more pleasant place to live in. Watch this space.
